13 years ago, when my son was born, he was struggling with atopic dermatitis for years, scratching his skin all the time. I took him from one dermatologist to another. Doctors gave him different kinds of creams, which after a while were stronger and stronger, and finally one that contained even steroids. That was the point when I decided I would rather look around in the field of so-called alternative therapy and see what mother nature has to offer :).
Believe it or not, I found the cure. I know it may sound like I consider myself some kind of genius but, in fact I had just encountered the ideal cosmetic ingredient which besides its abilities for softening the skin, it has amazing healing properties. This seed fat that comes from the shea tree is the shea butter itself. From the first moment I started applying it on my son’s limbs and face the eczema was gone.
Besides soap, I’m making body butters on a regular basis. I completely stopped buying body lotions, instead I make body butters that contain rich solid oils ( like, mango butter, shea butter, cocoa butter, etc.) and liquid oils ( like, almond oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, olive oil, etc.) and of course, essential oils which are not a must, I just love adding a little extra scent to my butters. I also add Vitamin E oil to my butters. Vitamin E oil moisturizes and nourishes the skin. It makes your skin smooth and healthy. Vitamin E oil is also known to reduce hyperpigmentation and wrinkles. Among the ingredients you will see arrowroot powder, which is an amazing addition to the butter since it cuts the oily texture of the oils and helps the body butter absorb more quickly.
Since my face and body butters don’t contain water or any other preservative, their shelf-life is shorter. I would recommend them to be used within 3 months. It’s important not to introduce bacteria to the mixture via dirty or wet hands. Make sure you always keep your container closed, especially when there’s steam in the bathroom.
What makes my products unique? My ingredients contain only:
Thank you for looking at some of my photos my business is called Skin-n-Lens, I have been offering individual and family portrait photo sessions recently. I have been studying photography since 2017 and although I have been mostly concentrating on landscape, product, real estate and sports photography, the interest and request I have been receiving during this year gave me the confidence to focus on portrait photography. I accepted requests in the previous months and now that the winter holidays are approaching, I’m offering photo sessions for families.
